Assurance Protection Plan
To avoid paying unexpected charges for service calls, residential customers may subscribe to our Assurance Protection Plan (APP) for only $2.99 per month.
Repair technicians will make home visits free of charge for Bright House Networks customers who subscribe to the APP. The technicians will determine the source of the problem and if it involves customer owned equipment, the technician will make the routine adjustments (not repairs) to the equipment to clear the service problem at no charge to APP customers.
If the problem is in the external wiring, internal wiring or equipment leased from Bright House Networks, the necessary adjustments will be covered by the APP.
What the Assurance Protection Plan Covers
The Assurance Protection Plan covers all Bright House Networks services including cable, High Speed Internet and Digital Phone. Here are some of the benefits of the plan:
- Bright House Networks technicians will make free service calls to the home.
- Bright House Networks technicians will fine-tune customer pre-owned equipment. (Some equipment may be unfamiliar to our technicians and will require the customer to contact the vendor or manufacturer.)
- Bright House Networks technicians will educate and inform the customer on the proper operation of all cable equipment and to the best of their ability, the customer’s equipment.
- Bright House Networks technicians will repair underground or aerial cable that is accidentally cut as a result of gardening or construction work on the customer’s premises.
- Bright House Networks technicians will trouble shoot defective internal cable wiring and provide customer with the appropriate corrective action to resolve problem.
- Bright House Networks technicians will trouble shoot defective internal telephone wiring and provide customer with the appropriate corrective action to resolve problem. ( Telephone wiring service is only available to existing Bright House Networks Digital Phone customers.)
- Upgrade Bonus Privilege: Once per each calendar year, APP customers may take advantage of a special free upgrade of services. This waives the normal installation fee (savings over $24.95) for a technician’s visit to your home when adding premium services and an additional outlet.
- Battery Maintenance: Bright House Networks will replace the batteries in all Bright House Networks owned remote controls. Customers must exchange the batteries at local Bright House Networks retail locations. (Some restrictions may apply.)
What is Not Covered
The following items are not covered by the Assurance Protection Plan:
- Bright House Networks technicians will not repair any customer-owned equipment, such as TV’s, VCR’s, house amplifiers or A-B switches.
- Installation charges for the initial connection, reconnection or relocation of cable/telephone outlets are not covered by the APP.
