SETTING UP AND USING A VOICE MAIL ACCOUNT
If you have subscribed to our Voice Mail* feature, it will take a few minutes to set up your Voice Mail account. Once set-up is complete, your Voice Mail will be ready to receive messages.
*Voice Mail service is available for only $1.95 additional per month.
- From your home phone, dial your 10-digit home phone number.
- The Voice Mail system will ask for your temporary Personal Identification Number (PIN) - which is the last four digits of your Digital Phone telephone number.
- The Voice Mail system will prompt you to select a new 4-digit PIN and then press #. The Voice Mail system will ask you to verify your PIN by entering it a second time and pressing #.
- The Voice Mail system will prompt you to state your name and then press #. This creates a recording that will be heard when retrieving and forwarding messages.
- To use the recording of your name, press 1.
- To listen to the recording of your name, press 2.
- To record your name again, press 3.
- The Voice Mail system will ask you to record a greeting and then press #. This is the greeting callers will hear when you are unable to answer the phone. It is good practice to write down the greeting to ensure all the information you desire is included.
- To use the recording of your standard greeting, press 1.
- To listen to the recording of your standard greeting, press 2.
- To record your standard greeting again, press 3.
- Once your Voice Mail account set-up is complete, you will have the opportunity to listen to the main menu, or, if you are finished, simply hang up to exit. You may also exit by pressing *9.
RETRIEVING MESSAGES
From your Bright House Networks Digital Phone
- Lift the handset on your home phone, then press *98 for immediate access to your voicemail. Follow the voice prompts to listen to your messages.
From any other phone
- Lift the handset and dial your home phone number. Wait for your Voice Mail to answer, and then press *5.
- The Voice Mail system will answer with a welcome message.
- Enter your Bright House Networks Digital Phone 10-digit telephone number then press #.
- Enter your PIN followed by #.
- The Voice Mail system will tell you how many new messages you have.
- Press 1 to listen to your messages.
RETRIEVING ACCIDENTALLY ERASED MESSAGES
NOTE: A deleted message can only be retrieved during the same Voice Mail session.
- If you have accidentally erased a Voice Mail message, press *7 to back up to the previous message until you reach the message you deleted. If you are in the main menu, press 1 to listen to your saved messages. The system identifies the message as deleted.
- After listening to the message, re-save the message by pressing #, or manage it as described by the Voice Mail system.
SAVING A MESSAGE
Once you have retrieved a message, you can save it by pressing # at the conclusion of the message. The next message will begin.
REPLAYING A MESSAGE
Once you have listened to a message, you can replay it by pressing 1 at the conclusion of the message.
ERASING A MESSAGE
Once you have retrieved a message, you can erase it by pressing 3 at the conclusion of the message.
REPLYING TO A MESSAGE
NOTE: You can only send a reply messages to another Bright House Networks Digital Phone Voice Mail user.
- To reply to a message, press 2 at the conclusion of the message.
- The Voice Mail system will prompt you to verify that you want to send a reply. When you hear the prompt, press 2 again.
- The Voice Mail system will prompt you to record a reply. Record your message after the tone, then press # when your message is complete.
- Press 1 to send the reply message.
- Press 1 again to confirm that you want to send the reply message with the standard delivery options.
MARKING A MESSAGE AS NEW
To mark a message as new, press 6 quickly after listening to the message. The Voice Mail light on your phone wil indicate a new message, and when you access Voice Mail again, the message will be retrieved as new. (Previously saved messages may also be marked as new.)
REWINDING A MESSAGE
To rewind a message several seconds during message playback, press 7.
ADVANCING A MESSAGE
To advance a message several seconds during message playback, press 9.
FORWARDING A MESSAGE
Once you have retrieved a Voice Mail message, you can forward the message to another Bright House Networks Digital Phone subscriber, with or without a personal comment.
- To forward a message, press 4 quickly after the end of the message.
- Enter the 10-digit telephone number of the Bright House Networks Digital Phone subscriber to whom you wish to forward the message, and then press #.
- The Voice Mail system will confirm the telephone number. Press # again.
- To forward the message without comment, press 2. To forward the Voice Mail with a personal comment, press 1. The Voice Mail system will prompt you to record your personal message. Record a message and press #.
- Press 1 to forward the message.
- Press 1 again to confirm that you want to forward the message with the standard delivery options.

Voice Mail Message Retention
All new, retrieved and saved Voice Mail messages received on your Digital Phone account will be available for 30 days. After 30 days those messages will be deleted from the system.
Spanish Voice Prompts in Voice Mail
With a few quick steps, you can use Spanish language prompts for yourDigital Phone voice mail. If you already have Voice Mail set up, just log in to your Voice Mail account, press 1 to Get Messages, press *4 to Change Language, then press 2 for Spanish. To change back to English, follow steps one and two, then press 1 for English. If you're new to Digital Phone, you'll be prompted for a language selection when you set up your Voice Mail.
